  • The Town Hall

The construction of the town hall started in 1845, after the demolition of the old building dated in 1682 where the prison and the cabinet room were.

  • The Theatre
TeatroBuilding the theatre started in 1857. The work was carried out by the people of Monóvar who wanted to provide the city with a place for shows.
  • The Clock Tower
Torre de RelojBuilt in 1743, on top of a knoll at the end of a steep street.
  • St John the Baptist´s Church
Iglesia de San Juan BautistaBuilt in the baroque style with neoclassical elements, it has two towers (one of them unfinished). There are two lateral naves where the chapels are found.
  • The Church of the Capuchin´s old Convent
Exconvento de CapuchinosBuilt in 1756.
  • The Bull Ring 
Plaza de TorosConstruction started in 1911. The Original wooden structure was replaced by stone, abd its capacity is 5,000 people.
  • The Castle
CastilloFrom the ´Almohade´ time, at the end of the 12th century - beginning of the 13th, it rises on a small hill. Archeological remains have been found dating from the Bronze Age.
  • Azorin´s Original House Museum  
Inaugurated in 1969. It houses Azorin´s work - an exhibition of objects and belongings, as well as a library.
  • The Casino´s Cultural Society of Monóvar
Sociedad Cultural CasinoCreated by the merger of the societies ´Casino del Teatro´ & ´Circulo Agricola´ in 1880. It has a largs garden divided into two levels, and has spacious halls.

  • Santa Barbara´s Hermitage 
Declared a local historic - artistic monument by the ´Academia de San Fernando´ in 1983. Dated in 1799, the hermitage rises on a small hill being an emblematic symbol of the town.

The region is famous for fine quality wines, and no visit to the region would be complete without a visit to a local Bodega.
